The CellInsight^TM Direct SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit (REF#CM-9002) is a multiplex reverse transcription real-time polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) test intended for use on real-time PCR systems such as Agilent AriaDX, Agilent AriaMX, BioRad CFX-96, and Sansure SLAN-96. It is designed for the qualitative detection of the RNA of the N gene (nucleocapsid phosphoprotein) and RdRp gene (RNA-dependent RNA polymerase) of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as well as the human RNase P gene. The detection of human RNase P serves as an endogenous control for sample processing, allowing verification of nucleic acid extraction procedures and serving as an internal amplification control.

The CellInsight^TM Direct SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit (REF#CM-9002) provides reagents for 96 reactions to detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA extracted from nasopharyngeal samples of patients. The uniqueness of the CellInsight^TM Direct SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit (REF#CM-9002)  lies in its inclusion of a lysis buffer that allows for the simple release of nucleic acids directly into a PCR plate. The protocol involves adding V = 4.5 µL of lysis buffer and V = 4.5 µL of nasopharyngeal sample, followed by an incubation of t = 10 minutes at room temperature. Then, V = 11 µL of the rRT-PCR master mix is added. The CellInsight^TM Direct SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit (REF#CM-9002)  is compatible with nasopharyngeal samples collected in transport buffers such as "VTM," "TE," or "D-PBS." Please note that transport media containing GTC are not compatible with the CellInsight^TM Direct SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit (REF#CM-9002).
