The analytical determination of trace-level contaminants in food and agricultural commodities is fundamentally challenged by the complexity of sample matrices. During the analysis of mycotoxins and pesticide residues, the presence of lipids, proteins, pigments, and carbohydrates creates significant "chemical noise" that can obscure the signal of target analytes and lead to inaccurate quantification.

Mycotoxin Analysis: Biological & Synthetic Platforms

Mycotoxins contaminate a vast array of crops, from peanuts and cereals to complex animal feeds. CellMade offers three distinct technologies to isolate these secondary metabolites with precision.

1. PriboFast® Immunoaffinity Columns (IAC)

PriboFast® IACs represent the gold standard for specificity.

  • Mechanism: Utilizing highly specific monoclonal antibodies immobilized on a gel matrix, these columns target and capture only the intended mycotoxin.
  • Operation: As the sample extract passes through, the target toxins bind to the antibodies while impurities are washed away. A subsequent elution step with a solvent (typically methanol) releases the purified, concentrated toxin.
  • Portfolio: We offer high-recovery columns for single toxins (Aflatoxins, OTA, ZEN, DON) and Multi-Toxin Columns capable of purifying up to six toxin groups simultaneously.

2. PriboFast® Multifunction Cleanup Columns (MFC)

Designed for rapid screening and high-volume workflows, MFC columns utilize a "pass-through" principle rather than traditional bind-and-elute.

  • Mechanism: A proprietary blend of composite fillers absorbs matrix impurities (fats, pigments, organic acids) while the analytes of interest pass through unimpeded.
  • Efficiency: Cleanup is achieved in less than 30 seconds. These columns are exceptionally stable, featuring a shelf life of over 30 months at room temperature.
  • Popular Models: M2200 (DON/NIV) and M1000 (multi-toxin) series.

3. PriboMIP™ Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Columns (MIP)

PriboMIP™ columns utilize "artificial receptors"—synthetic polymers engineered to mimic natural antibodies.

  • Unmatched Stability: Unlike biological antibodies, MIPs are highly resistant to organic solvents, extreme pH levels, and high temperatures.
  • Targeted Resolution: These are ideal for eliminating specific interferences. For example, the MIP-080-3 for Patulin effectively removes 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), a common interferent in apple-based matrices.
